RIDER UNIVERSITY GEO-310 Structural Geology Fall 2014

Laboratory supplies provided for you to use and keep include a 1/10" 6-inch graduated, clear ruler for use with topograhic maps, No. 2 mechanical pencils, and a field book. Rider provides Brunton Compasses and rock hammers. It's up to you to bring a  hand lens to the field.  I recommend the Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet Pocket Magnifier, (14x) for about $30.

This class requires the use of a personal computer (PC). Each student should have access to a laptop personal computer with Google Earth installed as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. We will be using these programs for constructing and spatially registering geological profiles, for generating 2-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) geological symbols and models, and for writing reports.
